We added Pixie this year, a huge blessing. And we said goodbye to long-term support animal Rosie but welcome little Ruby! We have team members with backgrounds in teaching and child development, with lived experience in the challenges of poverty, addiction, justice issues, neurodiversity and much more. This grounds our ability to meet clients where they are. Each member takes a common training series, practices a common set of helping tools, and uses the same vocabulary. We sharpen one another's skills constantly in our greatest expertise: change and guiding young people out of this specific type of poverty and its many related conditions. This year we have had four interns trained by our team. This, too, sharpens our whole team. In the first 13-weeks of internship, they get our full study curriculum accomplished and practice stills. We teach them to be able to respond in their future communities when there is a tough problem. They will be able to put up their hand and say, "I think I know a way we can do this together." And this year, all four of our interns have extended to second terms! This allows them to soak up much more than one semester and helps make their relationships to the clients even more helpful. Our internships are paid so that they are fair and equitably available.
