May 2025 Client Data

At Street Youth Ministry, we focus on meaningful relationships and transformation, but we also track data to understand who we’re serving, how they’re engaging, and where real change is happening.
We're about building meaningful and transforming relationships and not about checking procedures boxes at SYMin. However, we are still data driven. To help someone, we have to know them. So numbers in the door do matter. And being there isn't enough. We want to help you change, so seeing some change or lots of changes matters, too. The numbers below break down all our clients into groupings based on eligibility, level of engagement, and amount of change seen. It's an eye chart, but here is what my seasoned eye sees:
High Level:
- First, all the numbers shown indicate we served 75 of-age clients this past month. That's a great number. It's stronger than before our move from West Campus to North Central Austin.
- Second, 44 people are new to us, relatively. That means they've spent less than 20 hours with our team to date. That's a whole lot of new clients, more than 2 a day!
- Third, we have 31 clients who are engaged with our team (more than 20 hours). Of those, 100% have experienced change and 87 have experienced more than 6 changes. Compare that to the group that is newer and you see 1.8 times less change at all. But more importantly, you see 12.8X less "lots of change" in the new group vs. the fully engaged group!
Digging Deeper:
- The team struggled a few days for outreach and the numbers went down, but we managed to keep the number of people in our age range served growing even on outreach. That's good work! We need a good vehicle donation to resolve that but we do great with what we have.
- The number of clients grew this month who visited our facility on 2008 Justin Ln. It's been a while since we moved, but that's still the number one question I get from supporters: how our clients managed with our move. We do great with it. In fact, the number of new-to-us clients grew this past month who visited the facility! That's super! Long-term change may take a year or more of relationship, but we are structured to meet some immediate needs with each visit to keep clients coming back. It works!
- The number of clients in groups increased significantly! That is important because this is where they unpack challenges, issues, and trauma history with our seasoned facilitators! We can do brief guidance counseling anywhere, but group is where the growth tends to get nourished!
- Help Line means a lot of things... phone calls, text messages, and social media messages. We got fewer phone calls this month but the number of social media messages increased. Most of the contact revolves around keeping in touch with former clients who have completed our programs. We're still available for guidance. We can't continue to meet immediate needs when you are outside our focused age range, but we're there still to triage challenges and celebrate accomplishments!
