""Move into what you can now and move up as opportunity appears. That's the game, and you're winning it.""

The world talks about tightening systems, but your steps forward are undeniable...

At Street Youth Ministry, we believe your journey is the story that matters most. While conversations in the media often focus on tightening job markets and increasingly difficult housing systems, June reminded us that persistence still changes lives.

This month, our clients celebrated 97 personal victories, the highest number of accomplishments we've recorded this year. Every milestone reflects someone choosing to take another step toward stability and independence.

  • Housing Breakthroughs: Housing remained one of the biggest areas of progress, with 26 clients reaching significant housing milestones. Some moved into permanent apartments. Others secured shelter placements or used savings to stay in motels while planning their next move.Every housing situation is different, and not every solution is permanent. But each one provides greater safety, stability, and the opportunity to keep building toward the future. Progress often begins by moving into what is available today while preparing for what comes tomorrow.
  • Employment Wins: Despite ongoing conversations about a more competitive job market, 13 clients achieved employment milestones this month. Many accepted what we often call "steppingstone" jobs, positions in retail, hospitality, landscaping, warehouses, and customer service. These roles may not be the final destination, but they create momentum. A paycheck can become transportation, temporary housing, work clothes, or savings toward a longer-term goal. Every job creates new possibilities.
  • Commitment to Self Care: Real change is not only measured by housing and employment. This month, 19 clients reached new self care milestones. Some made the decision to quit nicotine. Others found encouragement through our art group, support groups, or healthier daily routines. These victories remind us that lasting transformation often begins internally before it becomes visible externally. Every healthier choice strengthens the foundation for the next step forward.

When we look at June, we don't see statistics alone. We see courage. We see determination. We see young adults refusing to let difficult circumstances define their future.

The headlines may tell one story, but the lives changing in front of us tell another.
